To further acquaint you with my practice, Perspectives Counseling Services, LLC works out of two office locations. One is in Bowling Green, and the other is in Maumee, Ohio. The Bowling Green office is in a professional medical office complex of three buildings. The Maumee office is located in a three-story office building, which houses approximately eight other businesses. Both locations offer a private, confidential setting and are handicap accessible. My office hours are by appointment only. I typically offer appointment times Monday–Thursday, noon–9 p.m., and Friday, noon–6 p.m.
At the initial appointment, clients are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to complete paperwork. The initial assessment session will cover a client’s description of his or her problems, gathering background history to better understand the context of the problems and beginning to mutually identify treatment goals to focus on in subsequent sessions. After hearing from a client, I will share professional direction to work toward resolving the issues.
While I have an eclectic approach to treatment (i.e. psychodynamic, family systems, insight-oriented, EMDR and solutions-oriented treatment), I initially tend to utilize solutions-oriented treatment to either help a client stabilize or strengthen their functioning. If unresolved issues from the past are preventing a client from making further progress, those issues will be dealt with while maintaining ones in the strengthened position of functioning.
I typically meet with a client on a weekly or biweekly basis. Visits are stretched our once progress has been maintained and the client is working toward completion therapy.
I enjoy my work as a therapist. With over 30 years of experience, I am capable of dealing with a variety of issues. I am gratified that over half of my clients are referrals from previous clients. I look forward to meeting with you to effect positive changes in your life.
